Emergency Health Services

Program Description

The Department of Emergency Health Services at UMBC offers a graduate program leading to a Master of Science degree. This degree is also a core component of the UMB-UMBC post-residency fellowship in emergency medical services and incorporates offerings from several university departments at both UMBC and UMB.

Track I: Administration, Planning and Policy
Track II: Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology
Track III: EHS Education – Available Spring 2024 (concentration available with Track I or II)
Emergency Management (Certificate)
Ph.D. Emergency Health Services Concentration in Emergency Health or Emergency Management in cooperation with the School of Public Policy (speak with an EHS advisor for classes – admissions done through Public Policy)

Admissions Requirements

GRE General Test may be required if undergraduate GPA is below 3.0 at discretion of Emergency Health Services Admissions Committee

EHSO: Courses are offered on-line via distance education (EHSO)

EHS: Courses are offered in-person/hybrid format (EHS)

Term of Admission: Fall and Spring

Domestic Application Deadlines: July 1 (Fall start) and November 1 (Spring start)

International Application Deadlines: February 1 (Fall start) and October 1 (Spring start)
