The LaTeX thesis template was designed by Dorothea F. Brosius at

Institute for Electronics and Applied Physics
    University of Maryland
    College Park, MD

The template has evolved over the years, and parts of it have
become incompatible with others and a few errors have crept
in. The version presented here includes minimal changes to
restore consistency, correct the errors, and enable
an error-free compilation of the included sample thesis.

The template provides three front ends:

    mainthesis-basic-2025.tex
    mainthesis-bibtex-2025.tex
    mainthesis-natbib-2025.tex

All three are meant to compile and produce the same sample
thesis. They are only different in the manner they handle
the bibliography data.

mainthesis-basic-2025.tex
This relies on the hand-coded bibliography
file Bibliography.tex and results in the
    compiled thesis mainthesis-basic-2025.pdf.

Advice: Hand-coding the bibliography works but is NOT recommended.
Do it in BibTeX for a consistent style across all the entries.

mainthesis-bibtex-2025.tex
This calls for a bibliography database encoded
in bibtex. Two sample databases, Dottie.bib
and Galactic.bib, are provided. Oddly, these
are unrelated to the sample thesis.
Therefore, you will be able to compile the thesis
but the bibliography will be missing :-(

mainthesis-natbib-2025.tex
This calls for a bibliography database encoded
in the natbib format. Two sample databases, Dottie.bib
and Galactic.bib, are provided. Oddly, these
are unrelated to the sample thesis.
Therefore, you will be able to compile the thesis
but the bibliography will be missing :-(

I have saved the original files in the NOT-USED folder in case
you are interested to examining the changes/edits.
