Certificates

During the semester in which you will complete your required courses, please complete the Online Application for Certificate Diploma. Submit additional required documents to Kyle Hopson in the Graduate School by the regular graduation deadline date for that term:

  • Fall: July 1 – September 15
  • Summer: April 1 – June 15
  • Spring: December 1 – February 15

The cost of the certificate is $35.00. After grades are posted for the term, the certificate will be posted to your transcript.

You will receive your certificate diploma, suitable for framing, in the mail approximately eight (8) weeks after the end of the semester.

Final Semester Registration
Graduation eligibility requires that students are registered for at least one credit through the semester in which they graduate. In cases where no other course is appropriate, the student may register for a special study master’s 7700  or doctoral 8800 course relevant to the program of study to ensure policy compliance. 

Before the close of general registration, register for at least one credit during the semester that you intend to graduate. For each semester, register by the following dates:

  • Fall: August 29
  • Summer*: May 29
  • Spring: January 29

*Registration during the Summer is not required, except in the following circumstances:

  • Student is graduating in the summer and was not registered in the preceding Spring semester.
  • GAs with an appointment in the Summer must be registered for 3 credits in order to retain FICA exemption during the Summer.
  • All GAs with appointments during the Summer are required to register for the graduate assistantship course GRAD 603.
Apply for Graduation
You may apply to graduate for the indicated term in the timeframes listed below. The required supplemental application is due by the indicated date, and will be emailed to you upon graduation application submission.

August Graduation
Apply to Graduate: April 1 – June 15
Supplemental Application Due: June 30

December Graduation
Apply to Graduate: July 1 – September 15
Supplemental Application Due: September 30

May Graduation
Apply to Graduate: December 1 – February 15
Supplemental Application Due: March 1
–
The application process is not complete until the supplemental application is submitted by the above deadlines.
