FAQ

How long will the campus tour take and where does it go?
Our campus tour is a walking tour and takes about one hour. A staff member will guide you through key highlights of the UMBC campus, focusing on academic and recreational buildings. While we won’t be able to visit every area, the tour includes carefully selected stops to give you a strong sense of what life at UMBC is like for graduate students.

Can I eat on campus after the tour?
Yes, you’re welcome to enjoy a meal at any of UMBC’s on-campus dining locations after your tour. For a full list of available eateries and their hours, visit dineoncampus.com/UMBC. Please note that hours vary depending on the day and time of year, so be sure to check the schedule for your visit date.

Do I need to bring anything with me on my visit?
You do not need to bring anything but yourself! We encourage you to check the weather and wear/bring appropriate clothing, as you will be outside for a significant portion of the campus tour. We also recommend you wear comfortable shoes that are appropriate for walking.

Who should attend a UMBC Graduate School Campus Tour?
The UMBC Graduate School Campus Tour is geared toward prospective graduate students and their guests. However, admitted students are more than welcome to attend as well. This is a great opportunity to explore the campus, get a feel for the university environment, and ask any questions you may have about graduate life at UMBC. It’s also a valuable chance to learn more about the application process in person and connect with staff from the Graduate School.
